Contatti linguistici e culturali tra Grecia arcaica e Anatolia pre-classica

L’Unità di Siena si occupa di studiare il tema delle relazioni linguistiche e culturali tra il mondo greco e il mondo anatolico a cavallo dei due millenni precedenti l’era volgare. A poco più di un secolo dalla decifrazione dell’ittita e dalla identificazione (di poco successiva) di nomi greci nei documenti in cuneiforme, questo campo di ricerca ha ricevuto nuovi impulsi, grazie soprattutto ai progressi nella comprensione delle lingue anatoliche cosiddette “minori” (specialmente luvio, cario e licio).

Gli studi all’interno del PRIN riguarderanno tutti i livelli di analisi linguistica: dalla fonetica alla morfosintassi, passando per il lessico e la semantica, sempre con un’attenzione specifica al contesto culturale e alla compresenza, indissolubile, di metodi filologici e linguistici.
